Hollywood Studios-not just for adults!

I have to admit, when my husband said we should do Hollywood Studios, I was like meh. But I was wrong! There is so much more to do with a child than I ever thought! We got our first ride on Toy Story Midway Mania-and I can't wait for our next one! It was so much fun-even my 3 yo was having a blast (even though she wasn't hitting many targets) pulling the rope to fire the ammo.

Be sure to FP+ Toy Story Midway Mania. It is rumored to be one of the best interactive queues on Disney property, but with a 3 and 5 yo in tow, I didn't want to try the 80+ minutes to find out...

My own Barrel of Monkeys

Our original plan was to visit for part of the day, then head over to Port Orleans to meet up with our friends for some lunch and pool play before we headed home that day. Well, we were having so much fun, we decided to stay at Hollywood studios for the day. Then the rain started. Until our most recent visit (will blog later about that) I was certain that me+Disney=rain. It rained and stormed for a good chunk of the day. When it wasn't raining, it was overcast and steamy. But we made the best of it. I , of course, called our friends up (I don't just ditch anyone-that is rude) and being that it was storming they completely understood. We took a ton of pictures, which I will use some of to tell our story here.

Before the rain began, we got to meet Sofia the First...

...And Jake, who is now Captain Jake of the Neverland Pirates.

We also got to do Disney Jr Live on Stage! It is a puppet style show that has all the favorites from Disney Jr. It is adorable and my girls loved singing and dancing along with Jake, Mickey, Doc, and Sofia!
And then the rain started...

However, we were fortunate to be "rained in" with a very talented , well, custodial cast member who painted Mickey just with his broom and the rain water!!! I have seen this on Pinterest and feel soooo lucky we were able to actually see this in person! It was amazing! Just a few swipes of his broom and VOILA! There is Mickey grinning up at us!

Took the girls to Muppet Vision 3D. Evelyn loved it, Sofia is just not sure about any 3D anything...

We all enjoyed Pizza Planet for lunch.

The Backstage Lot. Rumor has it that it will be no more with the planned expansion of the Star Wars area. My 5 yo wanted to walk in to the city-I had to take her up close to convince her it wasn't really a city street.

This is also (to my knowledge) the last year for the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights (or whatever the official billing may be) This picture was taken September 13-they are already stringing the lights for the event which does not start until November 6. Look closely-you can see hundreds of lights already strung on this one stoop.

My loves

And a day with little girls at Hollywood Studios is just not complete without seeing the Beauty and the Beast stage show.

Yes, I need a better long range lens-I will put it on my Christmas list.
